Whakapoungkau Homework Assignment - Week 1  Term 3  2017
FINAL DUE DATE – Friday 25 August, 2017

Choose a topic about something you are good at, or interested in to talk about.

Prepare and publish a speech.

You may research your topic on the internet, at the library, (school or town).

Some things you will need to think about will include – Who? What? Where? When? Why and how? You may like to include a prop, poster or pictures.

Make sure you have written your main points on small note cards and have highlighted the important parts.

Practice reading your speech to friends and family.

You will present your speech to the class with a two to three minute talk on your topic, during week 6.
You will be assessed by your self, a buddy and your teacher, using the following criteria-

1.  Clear voice, easy to hear.
2. Vocal and facial expression
3.  Eye contact and posture.
4.  Interesting information.
5.  Well prepared and learnt.
6.  Used cards as prompt.
7.  Props to show/poster/picture
8.  Confident

Hamburger Method
-Introduce your topic in an interesting way
-Introduce a new idea into a paragraph
-3 paragraphs about your topic
-Have an interesting conclusion

Our homework for the next two weeks is around our grammar and using the correct words in our sentences. When a word sounds the same but has different meanings, we call these HOMOPHONES. Complete the questions below in your homework book and return to school on Monday of Week (we are camp on the Friday of week 6).


Week 3/4
Here is our first homework task for 2017! You have 2 weeks to work through as many of these maths problems as you can do! I expect to see you show you working in your home learning book and having a go at the problems that are tricky! Remember our class quote- "Be Brave, Not Perfect!" So take a risks and give the questions a go! There's no harm in getting them wrong.
