Term 1 SOLO Taxonomy Topic- Living Things

Our focus in term 1 has been on living things. Part of this was looking at the life processes of living things and why these are so important. We focused our time looking at the Tuatara, investigating the living porcesses that enable them to live their life here in Aotearoa. To do this, we used the MRS GREN acronym: M-ovement, R-eproduction, S-ensitivity, G-rowth, R-espiration, E-xtretion and N-utrition.

SOLO Level
Comment- Poker and Mighty
Uni/Multistructural
I have put you boys between unistructural and multistructural because for many of your life processes you only have one idea, however others you have explained briefly why these occur.
Next Step: To develop your thinking, I would like to see you come up with several ideas for each section and then try to explain why these occur.

Dogs- Poker Heke

Dogs

Did you know that there are more than 150 breeds of dogs in the world!

What Dogs Look Like
A dog has two eyes, four legs and sharp teeth. And they also have claws. They use their tail for showing how they feel, if their tail is wagging then it means they are happy and if their tail is between their legs then it means they are scared. Their noses are always wet because it is how they cool off because they can not sweat like humans do.

Uses for Dogs
Rescue dogs help people from the snow and from ice. Hunting dogs hunt for deer wild boar and wild pigs Farm dogs bark at sheep to tell them to hurry up and move. Guard dogs guard people's houses. Dogs are very playful sometimes but some dogs are not so playful and can bit you. Sniffer dogs can sniff bags to see if there are any drugs in them . You can pat dogs and hug dogs to show them that you love them. Dogs are warm blooded and they are type of mammals . Husky's pull sleds in snow.

In conclusion dogs are the best pets because they can help their owner with things and they are cute.
